Henderson Fusion Double Monk

Over a long and thorough period of searching, you did not find a better looking double monk than the one in the top picture. However, when you finally found this offering from Henderson, an Italian brand, it was too late. The brand discontinued its double monk strap model. You scrambled to the email machine and an English-Italian dictionary was employed. Alas, after a volley of emails in Italian, you learned the company only possesses one remaining pair (the bottom picture) and they are in a size 42, which is not yours.

For a period, you grieved and keened, but now it's time to forget. So, if there are others out there with interest in the lone pair, you are willing to provide details.

The Longwing

These quintessentially American shoes are powerhouse. They stare down potential buyers and clients with a stern look that says, "Business in the front, business in the back." With no time for wavering or weak handshakes, they down their Laphroaig 15-Year and are on to the next deal. With a heavy sole that roots them firmly in the earth, they do not back down. Incompetence and laziness are not tolerated. And why should they be? Listen here, guy, these shoes didn't get to this level working mere 40-hour weeks.

Profiles in Dancehall: Vybz Kartel a.k.a. "Worl' Boss" a.k.a. "Adijah Di Teacha"

Bounty Killer saw Vybz Kartel in 1998, recognized his talent, and took him under his wing. As a member of The Alliance, Kartel blew up, collaborating with many of Jamaica's biggest dancehall producers. However, in 2006, Kartel's relationship with Killer and The Alliance dissolved over his recording with D'Angel, Killer's ex-girlfriend.

The hate continued to mount between the two camps as Kartel fraternized with Killer's arch enemy, Beenie Man. It culminated in a three-year, on-again-off-again feud with Killer's protege and Alliance member, Mavado, which featured varied levels of physical violence as well as lyrical assaults on numerous tracks. The two have reportedly reconciled, due in large part to the schism and escalating violence that their beef created between Jamaican dancehall fans.
Kartel landed as a member of Portmore Empire in 2006, and now runs the crew, which consists of dancehall artists signed to his label, Addijaheim Records.
To listen to Vybz Kartel, or to find out what the proverbial time is with Jamaican dancehall, you know you can always pick up what DJ Hawaiian Lion is putting down on "Dancehall Vybz" on KTUH, Thursday nights, 9pm-midnight HST.
