Patagonia just unveiled a new "Legacy Collection," which coincides with the company's 40th anniversary and will be available in September. Father Sculptor | "Blackshirt"

With their latest release, "Blackshirt," Glasgow five-piece Father Sculptor unspool a melancholy anthem in the tradition of The Smiths. And it's not only that singer Thomas David sounds like Morrissey. The two bands also share a similar sombre tone. There is an underlying yearning, a desire in Father Sculptor's music. But with "Blackshirt," their sound is also akin to Tampa rockers Merchandise. Irregardless of comparisons, Father Sculptor should be well worth charting as they continue to develop.

Beckett Simonon | Graham Desert Boot

The story behind Beckett Simonon is an interesting one. You may remember twenty-something Colombian entrepreneurs Andrés Niño and Nicholas Hurtado from Hasso, a longtime T.I.C. favorite. The two launched Beckett Simonon in 2012. The idea is simple: design and produce affordable shoes (all styles are currently under $90 and include free shipping) and sell them directly to customers online. For the visual learners, it looks something like this:

The bottom line is that by keeping overhead low (think: skeleton team, no PR) and eliminating the middle man, consumers save big on quality shoes. 

The boys at Beckett Simonon generously passed along a pair of their newest style, the Graham Desert Boot in "Tan Waxed" leather, and it does not disappoint. It's their take on the classic Clarks style, with the most notable (and stylish) change being the addition of a red brick sole. These are going to wear in beautifully, both aesthetically (as the leather ages and develops a patina) and from a comfort standpoint (as the leather lining conforms to your foot). You've had a chance to pound the pavement in them for a short time now, and neither the shoes nor your feet are any worse for wear. The Graham Desert Boot is available in three colors.

Ellery James Roberts | "Kerou's Lament"

Former WU LYF frontman Ellery James Roberts recently self-released a new single, "Kerou's Lament." It is reminiscent of his work on the 2011 WU LYF masterpiece Go Tell Fire to the Mountain. Give it a listen below.

Fanlime | NBA Draft Style

NYC start-up Fanlime is an interactive platform joining athletes and fans. They work with marquee athletes to build a better brand narrative around the things athletes care about off the field and enable fans to engage with the content. In honor of tonight's Draft, they've put together a little widget that allows viewers to weigh in on past and present NBA Draft steez. Have a scroll through the good--what up, Kemba--and the cringe-worthy--rebound strong, Drew Gooden.

Bridge & Burn x Makelike | Hawaii 503 Collaboration

Two Portland companies, clothier Bridge & Burn and pattern design studio Makelike, teamed up to create a few Hawaii-inspired pieces. The interesting twist is that the prints feature natural elements from the Pacific Northwest--rhododendrons, dogwood blossoms, and Douglas fir trees among others.

Black Scale | Summer 2013
