Travelteq x Tenue de Nimes | "Trash" Laptop Bag

Tenue de Nimes is one of your favorite stores in Amsterdam. Both locations showcase exceptional taste and employ some of the friendliest and most knowledgable staff out there. You were excited to see their latest collaboration with Travelteq, a brand that you've featured, on a limited edition of 30 handmade "Trash" laptop bags. Each piece was crafted in Italy from Florentine Vacchetta leather and Japanese selvage denim. Both the leather (€545) and "inside out" denim (€450) versions are available online through Travelteq and Tenue de Nimes.

Old Joe & Co. | F/W 2013-14

Absolutely no idea how Old Joe & Co. has slipped by you since 2007. Yet another example of a Japanese brand doing it right. Japan continues to simply slay it in the menswear arena, interpreting Americana in fresh and interesting ways. Old Joe & Co., designed by Yusuke Takagi, is a Tokyo-based brand that, as their little clip below indicates, cares deeply about the details in hand-crafting vintage-inspired garments that are built to get better with age. Some of the pieces from the current collection appear to be as good as it gets and you want them.

Chopper Fever

Chopper Fever is a completely American made and produced brand featuring selvedge Japanese and Cone denim, outerwear, custom made jewelry, hats, accessories, button ups, tees, and long sleeve menswear.  They focus on quality details and styles that incorporate the new and the old using vintage dead stock fabric and limited runs.  You can easily see how they draw their inspiration from vintage Americana, heritage workwear, and custom motorcycle culture.  Chopper Fever is an offshoot of Sunrise Cycles, a Los Angeles-based full custom Harley Davidson shop.

This is the future of the motorcycle industry.  This up-and-coming generation of young builders who are bringing their own unique perspectives and experiences--skateboarding, punk rock, a hint of grunge, a sense of fashion that doesn’t consist solely of leather and fringe--to the freedom that comes with two wheels and the open road.  These days it’s not uncommon to see a lad with a big, bushy beard, cuffed blue jeans, RayBans, and flannel out and about on a rebuilt vintage Harley. This is an industry that not too long ago was saturated with extravagant bikes built for form over function, and many builders were claimed in the recession.  As a result, the years since have seen a resurgence of old school bobbers and the like.  Sunrise Cycles and their brothers in arms build bikes that are stripped down to everything but the bare essentials and make them look badass in the process.

Stock Manufacturing Company | Denim Workshirt

Stock Manufacturing Company, based in Chicago, has some lofty goals and it aims to do things a little differently. Here's a helpful graphic:
Most notably, through its collaboration model, Stock provides a vehicle for small and emerging designers to get their products produced and into the marketplace without the exorbitant up-front costs that come with manufacturing and selling a new brand. The key element to the process is that consumers vote with their orders for the products they would like to see made. If a garment gets the requisite number of orders, it's gets produced. Stock also has its own line, which includes pieces you really want. The Denim Workshirt is one. To chip in and/or learn more, visit the Stock Manufacturing Kickstarter.
